I’m heading to BookCon!
I’m officially off deadline! (for a hot minute) So I thought I’d take a sec to share some updates!
Let’s start with the most obvious one (it’s the title of this post after all). I’m going to be a panelist a BookCon!!
What’s BookCon? The biggest reader-facing book conference in the US! It started in 2014, ended in 2020 due to COVID, and it’s finally back, taking place April 18th & 19th at the Javits Center in NYC!
As you can imagine, the competition to get onto a panel was STRONG this year after its long hiatus, so I’m thrilled to not only have been invited, but to be chatting alongside some of my very favorite authors and friends!
The Sunday morning 11am panel is titled “Romance in Fantastical Realms: A Spell-binding Look at Love in YA Fantasy and Speculative Fiction.” My co-panelists are Angela Montoya, Melissa Poett, Kamilah Cole, and Kelsey Imbicciche. With this group, it’s sure to be a riot!
We’ll do a signing at table 17 following the panel, then EveryLibrary will be interviewing me at their booth (656) at 3pm. Please stop by if you’ll be attending!
2. I’m in copy edits for Predestined, and I’ve seen the final cover and IT’S GLORIOUS! I saw three completely different cover concepts during this process and ended up with the best of the best! Can’t wait to share it with you!
Join my street team for early access, free swag, and to help spread the word! And add Predestined to your Goodreads TBR so you’ll hear about Goodreads giveaways!
3. Soulmatch has been nominated for the 2026-27 Georgia Peach Teen Book Awards! Librarians across the state recommend books for this award, and the teens will read and vote for the nominees through March of 2027. This is such an honor, especially because I’m among so many author friends on this list of 20 books!
4. Soulmatch is up to 169 Amazon reviews! SO close to my goal of 200!! If you haven’t left a review on Amazon, please do so! They really do help push sales! You can leave a review on Amazon even if you purchased the book elsewhere!
5. I received my Junior Library Guild Gold Standard pin and certificate for Soulmatch. It feels really real now!
6. Oh! I almost forgot! The Soulmatch audiobook is on sale through Wednesday, 4/8 at Audible for all Premium Plus subscribers! I have no clue how much because it’s already in my library, so I can’t see the sale price, but in previous site-wide sales, it was less than $10. Go grab your copy!
7. And finally, to celebrate a big milestone birthday, I had new headshots taken by Becky A. Gardner Photography! I’m super critical of myself in photos, but I ended up with lots of favorites! Here are just a few!
Book Recs
I just returned home from spring break, where I was able to read two physical novels! The first was Now She’s Dead by Roselyn Clarke. Imagine if a teenage girl died in Dirty Dancing, and Baby believed she was responsible. The plotting and storytelling was exceptional!
I also read and loved The Dead of Summer by Ryan La Sala. It’s a YA horror that’s equal parts witty, creepy, and heartfelt. Cannot wait for the sequel!
I’m currently listening to Carnival Fantástico by Angela Montoya. This is the third novel of hers I’ve read/enjoyed. She’s so great with the witty banter!
And finally, I’m SO excited to read Nisha Tuli’s YA dystopian romance, Stormbreaker, which releases in a month! It’s being adapted for a TV series at Amazon Studios!
